Alloy AA 6063

Description of Alloy

Alloy 6063 provides a good combination of extrudability and mechanical properties. It is excellent extrudability allow thin-walled hollow shapes, intricate solids and other shapes that are usually difficult to extrude with satisfactory finish, to bo produced more easily. It is respond well to polishing, chemical brightening, anodizing and powder coating.

Characteristic

Welding	Alloy 6063 is readily welded by the MIG and TIG processes
Machining	Readily machined in all tempers given.
Forming	All tempers may be formed teh softer tempers accepting more severe forming
Corrosion	Excellent resistance to the atmosphere. Particularly suitable for architectural anodizing
	applications.

Temper Available (Extrude Shaped T4,T5,T6)

T4	Solution heat treatment followed by natural aging at room temperature to a substantial stable condition.
T5	Artificial aging after an elevated temperature, rapid cool fabrication process such as casting or extrusion.
T6	Solution heat treatment followed by artificial aging.
