United Nations Industrial Development Organization—UNIDO was established in 1966 and became a special organization of United Nations in 1985. Now it has 171 members states with its headquarter in Vienna, Austria.

The task of UNIDO is to promote and accelerate sustainable industrial development in developing countries and nations under economic transformation. The tenet of the organization is to develop productivity to alleviate poverty and help developing countries and nations under economic transformation fighting against marginalization as well as to mobilize knowledge, skills, information and technical resources to improve the employment condition. UNIDO is also responsible for creating a competitive economy and sound environment.
